Top Tips On Last Minute Holiday Bookings
By: Anna Stenning
Booking holidays in advance is always the best way to go, when searching for something that is of a good quality. People will always want something that will make them feel comfortable on their holiday, whether it is a luxurious accommodation or fully catered services in their hotel. The fact remains this is not possible unless one takes the time in booking them in advance rather than waiting for offers to turn up on late availability. Late availability hotels and accommodations are not always the cheapest options; however, more places are offering deals for last minute bookings. These help people who are on an unpredictable schedule to take the time off for a short holiday locally or abroad. Some of the late availability offers can include meals, but there may only be specific rooms available for people paying a certain price for their stay. Those that pay the full price may only be offered the rooms that contain all of the typical facilities needed for temporary accommodations, which may include a mini bar, complimentary toiletries, cleaning services, breakfast and lunch or dinner. For those booking late availability hotels, they may find that not all of these services are open to them; however, they will be eligible to cleaning services and complimentary products. Sometimes booking a last minute holiday may be the only option for people, therefore more hotels and holiday agencies are likely to have seasonal offers and deals going at a reasonable rate. Not everyone are familiar with finding last minute bookings or finding cheap tickets at such a late point. The best option is to research on the internet by looking at major websites and companies, because they will often advertise for discounts on flight tickets that include hotel bookings. These are only on offer for a certain period; therefore you will need to be quick in booking with them. For people with easy internet access can check for updates, subscribe to holiday newsletters and find online offers that are cheaper to buy off the websites that phoning in to book in directly with them. Sometimes normal holiday websites contain forums and testimonials from previous customers, so for those who are unsure of the place that they are thinking of booking with can read up information from people who have been to the same place. Always be on the lookout for deals that offer discounts for holidays that are normally above 500 pounds, because they will be the best value for money. Offers like these are again only available for a certain period and can only be booked between specified dates. Late availability accommodations may only be available at certain seasons, which differ from the holiday tickets; therefore be wary about the price you pay for the actual travel to the holiday destination and the price of the hotel. Many of these deals will not include transportation or accommodation so it is best to double check. It is a good idea to make enquiries for certain agencies, as the latest deals may not be readily advertised, or have not yet been announced yet. Visiting your nearest agency may give you a chance to speak to someone in person, going through what you want and seeing what your options are.

Vacation means different things to different people. Some people find that a vacation is the only time to relax and recharge. Some people see the vacation as the time for family and fun. There are some that see a vacation as the best time to learn, to grow, and to try something new.
Learning vacations are a rising trend among travelers. Retreats, courses or classes are becoming a normal offering at resorts and travel destinations around the globe. No matter where your interests lie, there is some place that will help you learn more or be better in that area of your life.
Take a yoga retreat and find your inner center. Use the Earth's energy to help boost your own. Increase you meditation skills or learn new meditations techniques or even experience an actual Native American sweat lodge.
Kick up the heat - in the kitchen with some lessons at a cooking school. There are a number of resorts and bed and breakfast establishments that specialize in helping you find your inner chef.
Learn a new language - by living and breathing it. Some colleges are opening their doors to visitors from other countries to help them learn the lingo. There are no tests or exams. Instead the learning comes from experience the language and culture first hand.
Go wild and get wet with some whitewater Kayak lessons. Get instructions on basic stokes and rolls before testing your skills on some real white water rapids. You’ll get some exercise, learn a new skill and experience nature in a whole new way.
These are not your father’s vacations. These are vacations that offer education, excitement or maybe a little of both. Let your next time away give you a charge by teaching you something new that you can bring back with you and use time and again.

Choosing Your Vacation: Cruises Or Resorts?
By: Paul Turner
The time has finally come, and you deserve it: you've racked up enough vacation time, you've worked hard and saved some extra recreation money, and it's time to take a much-needed trip with your family (or maybe even by yourself). But with all of the options available to you, where's the best and most affordable place to vacation if you're interested in getting far away from your native town? For kicking back, relaxing and forgetting about your troubles for a while, there are many different vacation options that could fill the ticket perfectly.
Choosing which is best for you can be a very subjective process, but there are some things you can take into account that will make your final vacation travel destination easier to conclude. In this particular article, we're going to focus specifically on on two of the most popular types of vacations: cruises and resort hotels (both domestic and abroad).
Cruises, of course, offer a unique experience unlike any you can have at a land-based hotel, and they can be surprisingly affordable for both couples and families. There is a relatively large variety of cruise vacation companies to chose from when planning your trip, and different packages and bargain deals that can bring the prices down even further. In fact, anyone who can afford to pay for a week long vacation at a modestly-priced nicer hotel is likely to have the funds available to book a cruise vacation, instead. And one of the best things about a good cruise line is that the ship itself isn't just about looking at the external sights; many cruise ships today offer shopping, dining, sporting and plenty of other recreational activities, as well.
While cruises are a great experience that everyone should have a chance to enjoy at some point in their life, there are also more than a few advantages to choosing a resort hotel vacation, instead. First, the options available to you are much more broad and include a more diverse selection of locations and prices. While the number of cruise ship vacation are always limited to certain locals every year, there is seemingly no end to the volume of high-class hotels that can be found in virtually every city in the world.
And while the nicest resort hotel vacations can cost as much or more than a cruise, there are also a large number of very affordable resort vacation packages to choose from, as well. And if you feel like taking a classy vacation, but don't want to leave the United States, you can still do both at a first-class resort in all fifty states.
In the end, the choice between cruises or resort vacations will come down to your budget, the amount of time you have available, and your own personal tastes. But it doesn't mean you have to limit yourself to one or the other; remember, this vacation doesn't necessarily have to be the last one you ever take in your life!

Travelhey Part PhuketGetting to know Phuket nightlife
By: Prabhat saini
Phuket nightlife takes on many different forms. Phuket is one of Thailand's top destinations and as such there is a diverse range of nightspots on the island. Although Phuket nightlife is not quite on the same level as in Bangkok, that doesn't mean that you won't be able to find somewhere to have fun.
Phuket nightlife is at its most lively in Patong. You'll either love Patong or you'll hate it. The bars are loud, the clubs are obnoxious and the streets are crowded. That being said, Patong is cheap and the bars and clubs stay open later than in other parts of Phuket.
Patong is famous for its nightlife. The center of the action is found on Soi Bangla, which is a hive of go-go bars, discos and stage shows. This is Phuket nightlife at its most seedy, but it can be a lot of fun if you go in the right frame of mind.
Generally speaking, the bars and clubs in Patong churn out hip hop and dance music hits. It can all be a bit predictable, so don't go expecting anything special.
Patong is also known for its girls. Yes, it's true, there are countless bar girls and sex shows in Patong, but the people of Patong make no effort to conceal these facts. Patong is what it is and it's best not to take the whole place too seriously.
Perhaps the most fun that can be had in Phuket is at some of the local clubs. Phuket nightlife is at its most authentic in the small Thai clubs, where you can check out some of the local bands. Phuket Town is probably the best place to sample some Thai-style clubbing.
Also in Phuket Town there are lots of pubs and beer bars and much less of the seedy side of Phuket nightlife.
There are plenty of other areas where you can go and party, but usually they aren't as busy and entertaining as in Patong or Phuket Town. There are a few exceptions scattered around the island in places such as Surin, Kata-Karon and Nai Harn.
The only area that Phuket really lacks anything in terms of nightlife is serious clubbing. There are a few Phuket clubs where you can hear cutting-edge music, but these are few and far between. However, it is possible to catch electro, techno, breaks, house and more in some Phuket clubs and bars.
Phuket could be a major clubbing destination in Southeast Asia, but the island has a long way to go before it can start competing with the likes of Singapore and KL.
For now, Phuket nightlife has enough depth to keep people entertained, but you feel as if there is more to come. The shining beacon of Phuket nightlife is that there is a great live-music scene around the island. There are lots of bands who can rattle out everything from rock and indie to jazz and blues. If you can get into it, there is a top indie scene in Phuket. Pick up some CDs in a local store to get a feel for the music.

How To Plan A Smoke-Friendly Trip
From one perspective, the dramatic rebound of premium cigars couldn't have come at a better time. After decades of competition from cigarettes, the gradual deterioration (through age) of its customer base, and decreased consumer interest in tobacco products generally, the sudden early-nineteen-nineties resurgence of interest in premium cigars was instrumental in keeping the industry alive. After fourth quarter industry growth in 1992 (the first in years), the launch of new magazines devoted to the hobby of cigar smoking, and a proliferation of cigar bars and specialty shops, cigars were trendy for the first time in decades.
But the timing was also somewhat ironic. Between a high-profile class-action suit against cigarette companies and controversies over cigarette advertising - not to mention a general decline in the number of smokers - the world's cigar makers found themselves experiencing new popularity at a time when their industry was also facing new marketing challenges. Along with these changes came a gradual increase in the number of buildings, towns, and sometimes entire states where smoking of all kinds was regulated. All those new cigar smokers found themselves restricted from enjoying their new hobby in airports, restaurants, and entire localities.
All of which raises a question - if you're a smoker traveling the United States, what are your options? To what parts of the United States can you travel if you're hoping to enjoy a box of fine cigars alongside the new sights and sounds?
There's no easy answer to that question, because individual towns and cities within an overall smoking-friendly state can enact their own forms of anti-smoking legislation. But in terms of statewide laws, here is a brief guide to the states with the most permissive - and the most restrictive - smoking legislation.
First of all, the overall news is - if you're planning a true cigar-lover's vacation, you might want to stick to the South (no surprise there) or parts of the Midwest. Of the eighteen states that allow smoking in bars of all kinds, as well as in casinos, restaurants and workplaces, quite a few are in one of these two regions of the country.
Among the southern states with permissive smoking laws are Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Tobacco plays an important role in the history of many of these states: Virginia was a major tobacco producer and smoking hub, not to mention the place where many Union soldiers first discovered the habit of cigar smoking during the Civil War. North Carolina was the scene of the discovery of Brightleaf tobacco, and the home of Durham, a major tobacco city. South Carolina was also, early on, a big tobacco producer.
Other very smoke-positive states include the Midwestern states Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Perhaps smoking helps deal with the harsh winters for which many of these states are infamous. The same beat-the-cold explanation may apply in Alaska, another state with maximally permissive smoking laws, and Kentucky, which I would have counted as a "Midwestern" state, except that some Kentuckians take violent exception to this designation. (Some also don't like it if you call them "southern.") Rounding out the list of the top pro-smoking states are Pennsylvania and Wyoming.
As for the bottom of the list: if you like smoking in bars, restaurants, casinos and workplaces, stay out of Arizona, Delaware, Washington State and Washington D.C., Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, and - no surprise - California. All of these states have enacted the least permissive, widest-scale smoking bans at the statewide level. Not only that, but several of them are cold - it's hard to imagine a worse fate than traipsing around Minneapolis or St. Paul in winter, with an unlightable stogie, exiled from your favorite bar. In Arizona and California, at least it's warm enough out on the sidewalk.
States that allow at least some indoor, public smoking include Tennessee, Arkansas, and Montana, where some bars and casinos allow smoking, as well as Hawaii, Oklahoma, and South Dakota, where bars, casinos and restaurants that allow smoking may be found. Most of the other states have heavier but not full restrictions. (And as for Nevada, if you're wondering - well, you can smoke in some casinos and bars, but not anywhere that serves food.)
Wherever you go, if you're worried about encountering roadblocks to smoking, call ahead to your hotel or visit the city's web page. After all, local ordinances can be as restrictive as any statewide ban. Do research first.

Where Did The Travel Deals Go?
By: Gary Zaccaria
Travelers face higher fares, added fees and more crowded planes. So, what is a traveler to do? According to a recent Associated Press report on travel, “Nearly all of the largest U.S. carriers are making cutbacks. That's bad news for travelers, especially those who fly out of smaller regional airports that are losing flights and service. And it's almost certain to get worse unless oil prices drop and take the pressure off airlines to keep shrinking.”
And air travel comfort and convenience isn’t the only issue. Travelers booking hotel reservations, cruises, car rentals and vacation packages are also feeling the affect of rising oil prices on the ground.
Although many travel search sites exist, rates frequently change depending on basic supply and demand market conditions. Airfares actually change hourly depending on percentages of seats booked. Often times a traveler finds one rate on one site, and “surfs” to another travel search site to make price comparisons only become frustrated after hours of searches, discovering that the “low fare” is no longer available. Conventions can gobble up virtually every available hotel room, leaving the casual travel with few affordable options, driving the prices up and reducing availability.
Bidding online for travel deals has become “caveat emptor” with many people overbidding and not getting much of a value. Sometimes “fees” and “fuel surcharges” are not clearly explained and what seems like a good deal, really isn’t. No longer is it as simple as calling a local trusted travel agent for the lowest rates because most of the brick and mortar agencies have long since closed their doors due to the competition of Internet travel agency firms.
A new method to reduce travel costs, planning group travel has become the latest rage. Group travel specialists put together the free travel quote for families planning trips together for reunions, weddings, religious, and even senior events as well as affinity groups who travel for lodge events, clubs meetings, and fraternity or sorority vacations. Substantial discounts can be obtained this way due to the combined purchasing power.
New technologies are becoming available on the Internet to enable travelers to conduct “power searches”. These advanced search engine technologies are emerging to level the playing field. Using this advanced search technology, instead of spending hours comparing the rates and availability on multiple travel sites, a traveler can obtain more reliable and timely search results in just a few minutes.
Travel consolidators have also put together special trips, cruises, vacation packages or “deals” for private members who are able to choose from a variety of destinations that are “discount” and pre-purchased. This low cost approach has enabled travelers to visit the most popular destinations even during peak periods.
Travelers are also relying on creative ways to budget vacation, including frequent flyer miles and credit card rebate and rewards programs. Hostels have also become popular among travelers. And with rising fares, rail tickets are getting more attention as car rental rates have increased. “Off season” travel has also become a viable option for reducing the overall cost of a trip although weather conditions at favorite destinations are usually the governing factor.
Despite these challenges, travelers are now spending over $7 trillion a year online in booking travel arrangements and that figure is projected to double within a few short years.

Many travelers think of a Spanish holiday as an incredibly luxurious vacation. The beautiful countryside, festive events and fascinating culture and history offer a welcome change from the standard "vacation." Now there are more reasons than ever to pursue the dream of a Spanish vacation.
Private villas are a hot trend for the avid vacationer. With such endless possibilities, it's easy to see why the demand is rising. Private villas offer many accommodations and amenities that you won't find elsewhere.
Villas are constructed to be lived in. Unlike hotel or motel rooms that cater to single or double-night occupancy, villas are there to welcome travelers who want to stay a week or a month. They are also less expensive than many hotels.
Villas are much more open and welcoming. They are expansive in comparison to the majority of hotel or motel rooms. They also have all appliances, furniture, linens and towels. Some travelers may even want to take advantage of the villas that offer staff to cater to your every need.
Spanish villas offer all the modern amenities that travelers are accustomed to. Many have private pools, gyms and entertainment centers. The fact that you are staying in a reserved facility ensures you will have more privacy. Each bedroom can have its own closet and bathroom, if that is what you are seeking.
The greatest benefit from villa living is the ability to go where you wish, when you wish. You don't have to stay in a remote area that's miles away. You can stay in the urban area of your choice.
Costa Calida is a beautiful spot for your villa vacation. This Spanish coast is located in the province of Murcia. It has warm weather year-round and offers the largest saltwater lagoon in Europe.
When deciding to rent a villa on this Spanish coast, there are some tips to keep in mind. First, when you locate a suitable property, is the advertisement reliable? It is best to attempt personal contact with any villa owner and speak with a person as opposed to arranging everything via the Internet. The result will be worthwhile. Speaking with the individual ensures you are responding to a legitimate query.
If possible, attempt to get references from previous renters of the property. These should be available online if the owner has an established rental history. Another venue is to find organizations or tourist groups the owner has worked with. This process of verification may save you time and money in the long run.
There currently isn't a "standard" process of payment; this varies by agent or owner. Many owners will request anywhere from 20% to 50% of the amount when you make the reservation. There may also be an amount requested as a security deposit or insurance against damage to the property. This extra amount should be refundable at the end of your visit.
Once you have responded to an offer on a villa, you should allow up to two days for the person placing the ad to return your query. If no reply is given, check with the organization hosting the ad. They may have alternate methods of communicating with the property owner or representative and can help you maintain communication.
Once your villa is rented, you will need to look into transportation during your stay. The Spanish coast is filled with a variety of rental facilities that meet a variety of budgets and preferences. A rental car gives you the freedom to travel wherever you want, when you want.
A private villa and private transportation will give you the freedom to vacation as you please. You can easily have a tranquil and empowering vacation experience in a new and inviting country.

Travelhey : Part The Gift Of Life Experience
The Gift Of Life Experience
By: Victor Epand
We often fret for hours on end on what we should give to someone. We look over catalogs, analyze their habits and try to determine what gift best exemplifies our friendship or love for them. So what is the best gift to give? Is it an expensive high-definition television, or is it the simple homemade quilt? According to a study done by Harris Interactive, it is none of those.
In this study that included 12,000 individuals, most of the respondents chose experiential or life experience gifts over material gifts. This is a great idea for you to give as a gift that will be sure to please. For most of us, while a handmade gift has sentimentality behind it, nothing beats the gift of a life experience.
What is a life experience exactly?
To know that, you must first ask yourself what the person you are buying for wants to experience more than anything. We are not talking about experiencing the newest home theater system or luxury car, but things that change someone's image of the world and of oneself.
For some, it may be seeing a baseball game at Yankee Stadium, or a hot air balloon ride through the Alps, while for others it may be touching the Pyramids. No matter what it is, the life experience will stay with the person you give it to, long after a material gift has found a spot in the back of the closet.
Of course, life experience gifts are not exactly cheap. Flying someone to Egypt for a tour of the Pyramids comes at a lofty price, but is that one-time price not worth the joy and sheer exhilaration you will give to that special someone?
Often we put too much emphasis on material possessions and during Christmas, this is more evident than ever. It is often easier and quicker to just pick up that gaming system for someone rather than spending the time finding the right white water rafting trip that will blow their minds.
Has the Harris Interactive poll has anything to say about it? Of course. The extra effort is worth it because while the gaming system will provide countless hours of entertainment, the white water rafting trip will stay with that special someone for many, many years.
So throw out those notions of buying gift cards, socks or any other material things during the holiday season. Go out, buy a life experience and help open up the mind of that person you care so much about.

Travelhey : Part choosing a cheap Airfare
Helpful advice on choosing a cheap Airfare
By: Clive HornsbyHelpful advice on choosing a cheap Airfare
One source of cheap airfare is consolidator services. Consolidator services refer to bodies that purchase airline tickets in bulk and sell them out to passengers at a subsidized rate. Travel agencies are an example of consolidator services.
International airfare fluctuates because of the demand versus supply relationship with passengers. As a general rule, the more people there are demanding air travel to a particular location, the higher the airfare becomes. On the Internet, there is a new community that is involved in predicting airfare all around the world.
The best key to employ for finding cheap airfare is research. Intensive research can instantly bring up a whole list of cheap airfare options that can save you a lot of money. Cheap airfare cannot be uncovered without the use of proper tools.
The airline industry has periods of high demand and low demand like other businesses. During peak periods, airfare tends to be more expensive. Save airfare costs by traveling during off peak periods.
Airline pricing is one way of getting cheap airfare. Airline pricing refers to the seat by seat sale of seats on an airline at inexpensive prices. It will pay you better if you book in advance for your airline ticket.
Booking a multi-stop flight helps you to save costs on air travel. Direct flights are more expensive than multi-stop flights. You can save up to four hundred dollars by booking a multi-stop flight.
There are certain times that airfare is cheap. A good cheap airfare investigator is one who is aware of the best times to travel that can fetch him or her a cheap ticket. Air travel is generally cheaper early in the morning.
Air travel does not have to be an expensive venture. In spite of high flying costs, you can still fly as much as you want to thanks to cheap airfare providers. Air travel costs can be cut down with the right amount of tenacity.

Budget Skiing and Vacation Packages
By: Roger MunnsBudget Skiing and Vacation Packages
Many ski enthusiasts around the world enjoy an international ski vacation sometime during the winter months.
Most ski resorts are operational between the months of October and April. This gives skiers a minimum of seven full months to plan winter vacations or long weekends.
Some of the most popular ski destinations in the world include the Alps, Aspen and the Pyrenees. These areas all offer skiers and snowboarders the ultimate in fun and adrenaline rushes.
The Alps provide nearly everything a skier could dream of. The mountain range is divided into two primary divisions; the Western Alps and the Eastern Alps.
Some of the most extreme skiing in the world takes place in the Alps. The highest mountain in the Alps, at 15,774 feet, is Mont Blanc. Many resorts in the Alps provide ski areas to fit any difficulty level.
Beginners have nearly as many options as intermediate skiers. More experienced skiers have a much wider array of areas to fit their needs.
Some of the most popular ski areas in the Alps are Kitzbuhel and Seefeld, both in Austria. Zermatt, Grindelwald and St. Moritz are popular destinations in Switzerland, while Chamonix Mont Blanc is the most popular in France.
Skiers are often prepared to pay whatever price is necessary for the quality of enjoyment they can receive at various resorts in the Alps. The upscale prices of some resorts in the Alps can put a damper on the budget traveller's plans, though.
Often filled with glitz and glamor, Aspen in Colorado is another world-class ski area. It is one of the favorite ski destinations for celebrities from around the world.
Like the Alps, Aspen has a wide range of ski areas to cater to a wide range of abilities. Families enjoy the smaller hills and gentle slopes, while more experienced skiers enjoy high-speed adrenaline rushes.
Some of Aspen's most famous homeowners include Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, Kevin Costner, Michael Douglas and Jack Nicholson.
The Pyrenees offer a broader range of costs to fit nearly any international skier's budget.
Resort areas like Bareges La Mongie, St. Lary Soulan and Andorra offer very affordable ski packages throughout the ski season. Resorts and hotels in the Pyrenees often offer prices as low as $30 per night or $400 per month for extended vacations.
Not only are the prices more reasonable, but the range of difficulty on the slopes is more diverse as well.
Most resorts in the Pyrenees start with slow, easy slopes for beginners to learn and practice.
Instructors are available to assist with any problems the beginning skier may have. Intermediate slopes are often marked and offer a wide array of terrain from steep slopes to small jumps.
More advanced skiers have a broader area to choose from. Many extreme skiers visit the Pyrenees for the sheer adrenaline rush the mountains offer.
With the 2007-2008 ski season at an end, the outdoor enthusiast can still find a wide range of outdoor activities at favourite ski destinations.
Many of the world's favorite ski destinations turn into favourite summertime vacation destinations during the off-season. Several offer discounted vacation packages during the summer months for the international tourist who enjoys a world-class mountain vacation.
